About Nicole Phillips
BIO
Nicole is a West Sussex (UK) based artist whose work is inspired by nature and local landscapes and seascapes. Her work is expressive and impressionist in style using acrylic, watercolour and screen printing. Her work tries to capture an emotional response to a scene, depicting a sense of the place rather than the absolute detail. Nature's forces such as wind, warmth, or chill, are often expressed using playful or loose brush strokes.
Nicole started her career by setting up a ceramics studio, creating a range of large platters, bowls and jugs all featuring her hand painted artwork. Nicole then went onto create a fresh new British textiles brand that featured her watercolour artwork digitally reproduced onto a wide range of products. More recently, Nicole has been exclusively focussing on her passion for painting original works in mixed-media and acrylic.
Nicole completed her Ba Hons Degree in Ceramics & Print Making at Bath Colledge in 1996 and since then has worked professionally as an Artist, Ceramic Artist and Textiles Designer but now focusses almost entirely on painting and printmaking.
